SLJ Trailee Award!

All day I’ve been thinking, I need to shout this out to the world, I’m so excited! But then I think…should I save it for the podcast? Then I told myself, stop it, you! Say it in both places! So I am! I won the 2011 SLJ Trailee Award! And in this week’s podcast you’ll get to hear a recording of it being announced and a mini-interview with the head of the committee, Teresa Schauer. Here is the article, and below, once again, is the trailer that won.
And a shoutout of thanks to the judges who selected my trailer and 23 other finalists were Daryl Grabarek, editor of SLJ‘s Curriculum Connections and Touch and Go; Shannon McClintock Miller, a librarian at Van Meter Community School District in Van Meter, IA; Melanie Mubarak, an elementary school librarian at Fort Bend ISD in Houston, TX; John Schumacher, a school librarian at Brook Forest Elementary School in Oak Brook, IL; and Joyce Valenza, a teacher-librarian at Springfield Township High School in Springfield Township, PA.
