No one is going to market your books but you, right?

But how?
I’m about to do something cool, and you can join the team FREE and come with me. It’s a no-brainer quick way for you to learn how to launch your book whether you need to know now, or save it for future publications. With this plan we may all benefit, and we’ll definitely all win.

1-LCBX-CoverThe Idea

A couple of years ago my husband Jerry and I collaborated on a picture book called Little Chicken’s Big Day which S&S published. Now we’ve decided to go the indie route and publish a special Christmas edition called Little Chicken’s Big Christmas.
It’ll come out Thanksgiving week and sales will be over by December 26 so I thought this would be the perfect marketing experiment in a bottle. I need a Launch Team and would love you on it. You’ll learn all my methods and then be able to use them for yourself. You can use the strategies for your own launches, repeat my successes, and BONUS: avoid my mistakes! 😎
I’m forming this short term Launch Team nowWhat’s it like to be on the team? I’ll send you a review copy, you’ll post an honest review on amazon, social media-ize it, and I’ll show my appreciation with awesome thank you presents.
Interested? Here are more details …

As Team Captain, I’ll send you …

    Hi Katie,
I’m so glad to be part of the team. Not only does it help ease the wait for the eventual publication of my first book (A Novel), but gives me a taste of marketing near and right at launch.
Your VIBC (Video Idiot Boot Camp) course, podcasts, and how-tos really helped me not only in better understanding the “Social” in social media, but also to see I had more to offer than I first realized. Not to mention keeping the faith during those eventual slumps all writers go through. Some more gracefully than others (I’m guilty of being in the “others” camp, but I’m getting there in the grace deparment. Julie Hedlund’s gratitude segments on Brain Burps helps TONS here.)
    Anyway, take care.
    Taurean J. Watkins (Taury)

Thanks Katie. I’m so glad it came out well. I had redo the last part (the cover shot at the end) because I wanted to make it look like a Christmas card without being too busy, and that was the only tricky part. Before VIBC, I never would’ve thought I could make a video like that, not to brag, but I’m speaking the truth.
I’m shocked at how natural making videos has become for me. Sure, the proccess can be long and tricky (as you know well know) but once you grasp the basics, it’s ADDICTIVE.
Like how when you get revved up about an idea and just run with it? That’s how that video came together. I saw the cover on the blog post for ep. #156 and shortly after joining the launch team and I mulled over ideas while still listening to the interview with Tomie.
If only I could make videos for my own books that short. That’s the downside to being chatty, detail freak like I am at times. I’m seriously more afraid of making potential viewers say “Huh? Don’t get it” more than “This is a smidge too long.” But I certainly don’t want to babble, either.
Part of the reason my blog stalled until recently was because I got a bit obsessed with doing more videos to sharpen my skills.
(My welcome video re-do will ideally be up by the end of the year)
This awakened drive to do video also reaffirms my belief that if I EVER get the chance to have my own cartoon studio I’ll have no shortage of IDEAS. Look out, Seth McFarlane, a new rival’s stepping up! (Okay, I need to come back down to Earth, but for a guy who was once a painfully shy kid, I’m not afraid to go for it like I used to be)

What a wonderful idea. I don’t have any kids on my shopping list, but will order one and donate it.
