In this week’s show you’ll hear

Susanna Leonard Hill and Julie Hedlund come on to discuss how to create an income stream from various writerly sources! Susanna has her writing course she’s just launched which you can find here

Julie has her 12×12 membership (end of February 2012 it closes to new members so hurry!) and various products and I have products and the Video Idiot Boot Camp I’m tweaking in prep for launch.

We also dive into…

  • how we got into providing these products/services?
  • how we all give MOST of our content away for free.
  • why it’s great to be able to earn income in a business you love, especially when you can’t live on royalties.
  • the balance between “business” and “writing” time.
  • people valuing what they pay for

Yea, I was able to listen to this podcast with 3 of my writing friends on my brand new PINK laptop from my hubby for Valentine’s Day! Even downloaded itunes on it. My kids thought the Brain Burps song was hilarious.
    Thanks, Katie!

Great interview! So appreciated the energy and modesty of all 3 great ladies of lit! You are all so generous in sharing your knowledge do not ever feel the need to apologize if you bundle the package and sell it! Learned some new things about using creativity to build a market.

Love your podcasts! This was a great reality check: a writer needs a platform, but also a paycheck. When the hiatus is over, I’d love to hear more about how to build a community–spreading the word, finding critique groups, keeping it fun.

    Thanks Katie!
