I’m honored to be on the Advisory Board of the Brooke Jackman Foundation and part of the second annual read-a-thon. If you’re in NYC on September 10, please join me and other great guests!
Please join us Saturday, September 10th, noon-2pm at the Winter Garden in the World Financial Center in Lower Manhattan for our second annual Read-a-thon, presented with Arts World Financial Center. Commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and our Foundation, this is a free public celebration of the positive, transformative power of literacy for children and families.
The Read-a-thon will be a two-part event, beginning with a stage show featuring performances by teen rockers Care Bears on Fire, poets from Urban Word NYC and the Bari Koral Family Band, as well as readings by Isaiah Sheffer, founder of Symphony Space and WNYC’s John Schaefer. Following the stage show will be storytime with children’s authors and other readers, as well as snacks for children and families.
The Winter Garden is accessible via 200 Vesey Street in Lower Manhattan, with full directions available on the Arts World Financial Center site.
