Okay, I started Poetry Month with haiku, continued with some limerick type silly rhyming, and today, have decided to go for the way more serious. You know what I’m talking about people. The Non Rhyming Poem.

A crimson cardinal. Regal.
Wearing his red robes of spring,
sings to his mate, full of hope and a bit of ego.
She is drab but has inner beauty
and a great personality.

See you soon,
Katie

I like it! The line “wearing his red robes of spring” is really nice. I can’t imagine her drab, though. I tend to usually write non rhyming poems.

Oh, no! I meant that because the female cardinal is brown…LOL
