Brilliant Idea to Market a Book

Though it’s not a YA title, if I ever wore a hat it would be completely off my head to author Jennifer Belle, who wrote The Seven Year Bitch. Knowing that one of the greatest joys is to spot a stranger reading one’s book in public (I know whereof she speaks!), she hired actors to read her book on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum in NYC. Her casting choice was based on who had the most infectious laugh and had them draw potential readers in through this creative marketing method.

Even better is that now it’s in the New York Times getting covered, people are blogging it, and that is the genius of this marketing campaign. At least watching the video will give you a laugh!
