Ever want to ask author/illustrator Peter Reynolds a question? Call him today at 4pm at (646) 595-4478. He’s the guy who illustrates the hugely popular Judy Moody series by Megan McDonald. He also wrote and illustrated the picture book The Dot as well as one of my favorites, Ish, among others.
Because why rest when there are things to do, he started the animation company Fablevision with his twin brother, Paul. And that’s not all. The guy is a whirling dervish of creative energy but I’m determined to make him stop for 30 minutes when he’s on my radio show, Brain Burps About Books. Since it’s the fourth Monday, today it’s on the Robin Falls network where it will start automatically at 4pm at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/rrradio/2010/05/24/interview-with-peter-reynolds-and-review-from-bets
Daryl Grabarek, of Curriculum Connections will also be on hand with ideas for teachers on how to extend Peter’s books in the classroom. And, as always, we’ll wrap it up with Bird Bytes. Today, Betsy Bird will review The Dreamer, a biography of poet Pablo Neruda, written by Pam Munoz Ryan and illustrated by Peter Sis.
Hope you’ll join us!

May 25, 2010 - 8:02 am ·I spent some time with Peter Reynolds at a conference and was struck by how tuned in he was to kids. So glad to hear the interview on itunes since I was away when it was on.
