Back To Work!

Well, I’m back from the summer and trying to wrap my head around a regular schedule. And you know what? I’m thrilled! I got back to work immediately and it feels so good, like scratching a hard-to-reach itch. I get very cranky when I can’t create. And I’ll be writing more regularly. Here, I mean…and hopefully on more books, too.

One of the coolest things happened yesterday. I drove to the market, parked, and got out of my car. Then I got very confused because I saw KINDERGARTEN ROCKS! in the back seat. Then I realized I was looking at the car parked next to mine! It was between the two car seats in the back, and looked as though the child had to stop reading in the middle of the story, because it was open, face down. What a thrill! I was going to leave a note on the car, but thought that might seem a little bizarro-stalkerish. The author who chased down all her readers! AAAAARGH!

Speaking of which, I came across another blog…by a guinea pig! I have a feeling it’s actually written by the librarian who keeps the gp, but in any case, I was again thrilled to read that this “guinea pig” read Kindergarten Rocks! at story time yesterday. So of course I left a comment. The internet is so cool.

Tomorrow I will be on TV! I hope someone is up to see me – I’m on at 7:15a.m. on the Ct. ABC affiliate morning show. It should be lots of fun! If I can get hold of a quicktime clip, I’ll post it here.

How cool, Katie..both the book sighting and the TV gig. Can you tape it? More importantly, what are you wearing? Also, I am experiencing the same bliss that comes from kids in school & getting back on track.

    Hi Hope!

I’m wearing one of my favorite shirts – it’s red with white polka dots. It’s low in the front, so I’ll have on a turquoise cammy under it. My white jeans and purple cowboy boots (I won’t be seen from the waist down, but *I* will know those boots are there!) I think if someone’s just waking up they may need sunglasses when they look at their TV screen!

I don’t know if I can tape it, but I’m going to ask for a quicktime clip so I can post it here.

    Thanks for the comment!

    K.
